Siena's First Birthday

Today was a lot of fun. Siena awoke this morning in the best mood as if she knew it was her special party day. She played with grandpa and nana during the morning hours while we prepared for that afternoon. She took a great nap, which gave us the time we needed to finish last minute details. Aunt Hayley and Uncle Brendan helped organized the fruit kabob tree that was a lot more work than I had originally thought it would be. As guests arrived, Siena played and laughed. Opening gifts, she really got the hang of reaching into the gift bag and pulling out the gift. She didn't, however, understand the ripping of the wrapping paper. By the end of gift opening, Siena was done and just wanted to suck on a pair of tights she was given.

Then the time came that we all were waiting for. The cake eating for Siena's first time. She was very resistant. She didn't like the feeling of the frosting on her hands. After wiping the frosting off of a piece and laying the cake in front of her, she slowly began to eat some of it. Still seeming more interested in her water bottle than the cake. This was definitely a surprise to me. After she was clearly done with the cake, Aunt Tonia happily gave her a bath, which I truly appreciated. I am sure that there will be many more surprises that Siena gives us.

Well, enjoy the photo album below. Thank you sisters for all the pictures you took.
